Key Club Structure

Written by: Jihyeon Ahn, LTG of Division 7

As one of the largest student-led organizations, the Key Club structure starts with General Members. Unique individuals all around the world serving the Key Club are the foundations of any level beyond, but first off, every member is involved with the Club level. General members and Club Boards such as Presidents or Secretaries are club-level officers of the school or educational institution.

Division level is a group of multiple clubs in the local region. As a division, each Club from other schools could organize a joint service event, make friends from other schools, or attend Divisional Council Meetings to discuss the possible projects. The Lieutenant Governor of each respective division sends out important information through newsletters and works as a liaison between the division and the District Board.

The district level consists of all the divisions in one area. Georgia District manages all the divisions in Georgia, and many of the districts are divided by state borderlines. Georgia District organizes bigger events such as SLC (Service & Leadership Conference) and GLTC (Georgia Leadership Training Conference). Lieutenant Governors work as part of the District Board, with the Executive District Board such as the Governor, Secretary-Treasurer, Editor, and Committee chairs that especially focus on topics related to Key Club, such as working with the Kiwanis Family.

Adding up all the districts into one, we become Key Club International, serving to make a better world with more than 251,000 members in 40 countries. Key Club International organizes ICON (International Convention), the biggest convention to discuss international amendment changes. The International Board is made up of 11 International Trustees, the International President, and the International Vice President to work with districts around the world. Additionally, district governors around the world play a role on the International Council to help I-Board throughout the service year.
