Key Club Core Values

Written by: Pradhyumna Vasishta, LTG of Division 5 and Jacqueline Davis, LTG of Division 12

Pradhyumna Vasishta:

Of the four Key Club principles upon which our organization thrives, I would like to highlight caring and inclusiveness. These values not only guide our actions but also define our collective identity as Key Clubbers committed to making a positive difference in the world.

Caring, the first of our examples, means for us to show compassion in every interaction with our community. From volunteering at local shelters to organizing fundraisers for those in need, every act of care is a test of our dedication to serving others.

Inclusiveness means for us to embrace diversity and create an environment of acceptance and belonging. By celebrating and understanding the unique talents, perspectives, and backgrounds of every Key Clubber, we create a community where all feel valued and inspired to contribute to their community.

Through our leadership roles, we use these values in action, leading with empathy, integrity, and a commitment to caring for those around us. Our efforts further reinforce the importance of kindness in strengthening relationships and communities.

Moreover, as advocates for inclusivity, we promote the rights and voices of small groups, creating a more equal and enjoyable society for all.

By amplifying these values in our Key Club journey, we inspire others to join us in creating a world where caring and inclusiveness are the guiding principles of our service.

Jacqueline Davis:

Some of Key Cubs other core values are Leadership and Character Building. It is the foundation for our actions as Key Clubbers. Being in Key Club has taught me how to be a leader and improve my leadership skills. I’ve been able to communicate, take charge and how to help people. Character Building helps you be your better self. You can help others, show acts of kindness, and be active in your communities.  I learned to handle conflict and be open to other people's point of views. I attended Key Club events and workshops which helped me build character and apply for leadership district board!! These values have many ways to be implemented by taking leadership roles in your clubs. You could lead service projects, organize fundraisers or even go for an officer position!! This can help build leadership skills and also personal skills. By attending Key Club Events and workshops you can learn how to be a good and effective leader as well as build character.

As I continue on my Key Club journey I grow more and more. I became active in my community, being able to be more outspoken and enjoy taking part in service projects. These values help me along the way and remind me of the importance of giving back.
