Key Club 101: How to be More Involved in Your Club

Written by Varsha Chennam, LTG of Division 3

Following in social media platforms:

If your school’s Key Club is active on social media, consider following them to stay updated with upcoming club events. Reach out to your club’s officers and ask them if your club is on Instagram, TikTok, or other platforms. Additionally, make sure to join club group chats on platforms such as GroupMe to receive notifications about service opportunities and other important club information.

Signing up for volunteer events:

The best way to get involved with your club is to participate in club activities. Check your club’s social media to find out what service opportunities are available. If you want to be more involved, ask your club advisor or club officers if there are additional service opportunities available. For example, some clubs may help out teachers at school or partner with other clubs for service opportunities.

Connecting your club with service opportunities:

Are you an avid volunteer outside of Key Club? Many Key Club members are also involved in their community through volunteer work outside of Key Club. If you would like more service opportunities in your Key Club, you can connect your club with service opportunities that you are involved with outside of school. This is a great way to get more involved in Key Club because you can share your passion for volunteering with your fellow Key Clubbers.

Running for officer positions:

Becoming a leader in your Key Club is a great way to get more involved with the club! If you are very passionate about Key Club and want to lead the club, consider running for an officer position. As an officer, you can participate in both service and leadership by implementing ways to increase member engagement, offering more service opportunities, and making your club more fun. As an officer, you can experience a different perspective and learn more about Key Club. If you are interested in being an officer, make sure to participate in club activities throughout the year, engage with members, and share your ideas with your fellow club members.
