The Georgia Key Club International Convention (ICON) was an unforgettable experience filled with exciting activities and many meaningful connections. Attendees had the opportunity to attend engaging workshops, where they gained valuable skills and insights to bring back to their local Key Clubs. From leadership development to service project planning, these sessions provided a lot of practical tools for members to enhance their own impact.

One of the highlights of ICON was electing the new international board, a process that brought members together as they listened to candidate speeches and cast their votes. It was a chance to shape the future of Key Club International and see the democratic process in action.

Meeting so many different people from across the country added another layer of excitement. Whether it was through pin trading or casual conversations, new friendships were formed with fellow Key Clubbers from different states. The tradition of trading pins created a fun and interactive way to connect, while also allowing members to collect unique memorabilia from the event.

Throughout the convention, attendees had plenty of time to bond with their own board members as well. Through shared meals, spending free time together, and exploring the city of Atlanta together definitely built stronger relationships within our Georgia district.

I can say my first ICON was a great experience. I got to meet others who shared the same passion in serving our community. Bonding with people from different parts of the world and making new friends was my favorite part of ICON. The International Convention was not just a way for me to make friends, it also helped me with leadership skills. From the various workshops to motivational speakers such as Lauren Hernandez, W.B Sims, Evan Austin, and Rania Zuri.

Various workshops such as Enhancing Your Social Media Presence, Event Planning 101, Power Districts, and Sell or Be Sold. There was one workshop in particular that gave me insightful and will help me through my term, Lieutenant Governor Training. The workshop gave me ways to navigate through issues I may experience, things to help me with officers, and my newsletters!  Caucusing and electing our new International Trustees, being able to vote on new amendments was also a highlighted event in ICON.

From Pin-Trading to elections, ICON was a great experience, everyone should have a chance to experience and meet new people. I got to meet people from Jamaica, Michigan, New York, and more! Everyone got to see my lovely state and experience Atlanta, some for the first time and some returning. Thank you for making my first International Convention the best event in my Key Club Journey. See you all next year in Florida for the 100th Birthday of Key Club!
