Governor's Project

Igniting Literacy

Each year the District Governor creates a state-wide service project for members to participate in. This year’s project, Igniting Literacy, raises awareness of youth literacy rates. The project utilizes strategies such as building little libraries, organizing book drives, using Schoolhouse.world for remote tutoring, and programs like Ferst Readers to provide books for children aged 1-5 years old. These efforts aim to make books more accessible, provide personalized support for struggling readers, and instill a love for reading from an early age.
