Summer Service

By Vivi Ngo, District Secretary Treasurer

School’s coming to an end in less than 2 weeks, but that doesn’t mean service has to end, too! Summer is a great time for Key Clubs to have various service projects and to volunteer locally or around the world. Squads Abroad is Key Club International’s new Service Partner who strives to provide high school students the opportunity to serve and be immersed in different communities. Key Clubbers who sign up for a trip will have the chance to visit various places like Costa Rica, Peru, and Morocco. Guided by our professional staff from the native country, Squads Abroad offers fun and engaging cultural activities in which provides a deeper cultural context and understanding to the country you’re visiting.

Your Key Club can volunteer as a “Squad” and choose a defined focus area, volunteer partner organization, and an enrichment project to complete while on your trip. You’ll also be able to choose the date and locations for your excursion. Squads Aboard offers 1 free teacher-chaperone with 5 or more students, 2 free teacher-chaperones with 6-16 students, and 3 free with 17 or more students! The price of the service trip is reasonable and the trip provides Key Clubs with opportunities to learn about meaningful and servant leadership.
