By Emma Johnson, District Projects Chair
About two months ago, I was lucky enough to visit the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes Boys Ranch campus with some amazing Georgia Key Clubbers from Valdosta High School for the Division Four Rally. During our visit, we were able to tour the Boys’ Ranch, meet residents and truly discover the significant impact Georgia Key Club’s fundraising efforts brings to the children’s lives.
Recently, I was appointed the District Project Chair for the 2015-2016 Key Club year, and it is my goal to take our fundraising and awareness efforts for our district project to the next level.
We have decided to launch a district-wide campaign to raise awareness and increase donations for the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes. If our district raises $27,000 each year for the next four years, we will be able to meet our deadline for the Foundation for Education project and build a new learning center at the Mountainview Campus. I know we can surpass that goal in if every member participates!
To help us accomplish our goal and meet the needs of the children at Mountainview, we are asking that every Key Club member in the state donates at least $3.75.
This challenge is easily met.
Think about it: you can raise your $3.75 by simply skipping a daily coffee run and putting that money aside for Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes. By doing your part, YOU are changing lives! And most importantly, YOU are showing what it means to be a servant leader!
Let us know how you saved your $3.75 by posting about it on social media using the hashtag #my375. Keep doing what you do best, Georgia Key Clubbers! Serve on! And remember to share your fundraising story and efforts with others on social media: #my375 #foundation4education
